Practice areas and experience

Jodi is licensed in Illinois and Iowa and has substantial experience litigating and arbitrating commercial, insurance coverage, and reinsurance disputes, and handling reinsurance audits. 

Before joining Jones Lemon & Graham LLP, Jodi was an associate with Butler, Rubin, Saltarelli & Boyd LLP and Lovells in Chicago, where her practice focused on litigation and arbitration, including numerous matters involving reinsurance disputes. Jodi recently moved home to Iowa,  joining Block, Lamberti & Gocke in Ankeny, near Des Moines, but remains of counsel to and continues to work on substantial matters with the firm.

Illinois and Iowa;  United States Court of Appeals for the 7th and 8th Circuits; and United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Iowa and Northern District of Iowa.

Representative Matters 

  • Represented a reinsurer against an insolvent cedent concerning workers compensation losses over $10 million
  • Represented a ceding insurer against a reinsurer concerning underground storage tank environmental losses over $1 million
  • Represented a ceding insurer against reinsurers concerning managed care losses over $20 million
  • Represented a pool of retrocessionaires against retrocedents concerning accident and health losses over $20 million 
  • Represented a Chinese software company against a Texas company for breach of a software license agreement over $250,000
  • Represented insurers in insurance coverage case involving a multi-million dollar financial institution bond claim involving fraudulent letters of credit
